Overlooking the sanctuary is Rātā café, an idyllic eatery where you can dine in or order takeaway refreshments and explore the beautiful grounds. As part of Zealandia, all proceeds from the café support the conservation work of the sanctuary.
Rātā café is a fully lisenced venue and creates an ideal indoor space suitable for event hosting, including Rātā Balcony. Other indoor spaces are also available within the Zealandia Visitor Centre including the Pāteke Room and Hihi Room.
Rātā Balcony is a private function area with large windows that bring the outdoors in, showcasing the venue’s iconic reservoir and heritage valve tower. Accommodating up to 60 guests seated or 100 standing, the Balcony is perfect for workshops, group lunches, celebrations and more.
Pāteke Room is a large indoor space ideal for conferences, team-building events and large meetings with optional presentation facilities. Seat up to 80 guests, or 120 standing in the Pāteke Room.
The Hihi Room, an additional room with presentation facilities, is suitable for intimate meetings with up to 8 guests.
The Heritage Lawn is perfect for outdoor events and team-building activities.
Take your function the next level and book a private guided tour for your event. Tours are flexible and available during the day or night, allowing you to enjoy all the sights and sounds of Zealandia while catering to your individual requirements.
Finally, as an unforgettable add-on, you may also like to invite your guests to jump aboard Ara Kawau, Zealandia’s electric boat, for a ride across the reservoir as part of your function. Ara Kawau is available for private hire and includes a skipper dedicated to your celebrations.
